Editorial policy
Local Music Culture aims to make its explanations clear, fair and useful over time. We distinguish general guidance from claims about particular situations, and we do not present assumptions as established facts.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against appropriate material available to us and take care with names, dates, quotations and claims about music practices. Articles should explain their scope and use plain language. When evidence is uncertain or an example has limits, the wording should make that clear rather than imply a universal rule.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader relevance and clarity. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable conclusion or control over editorial coverage. Any material connection that could affect how readers understand an item should be disclosed alongside it.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and amend verified errors with care. Where a change materially affects an article's meaning, we will make the correction clear to readers; wording may also be clarified when it could otherwise mislead.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are labelled and do not imply endorsement of a product, service or claim. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where an illustration could be mistaken for a documentary image, we will identify it as illustrative.
Music culture is made together
A scene is more than a list of performers. It grows through spaces, shared effort and the ways people find and welcome one another.
